Power of Intention: “Right Words, Right Thoughts, Right Action.”

If you could choose to set the direction of your day before it happens the next day–would you set it? What would you choose? Our minds are like powerful sails that can take us in the direction we wish to go, if we clarify our intentions.

Here’s a fun song I just discovered, and right on theme! 😉

Last night, before sleeping, I Googled “what time is sunrise in KL”. I got the info 6:58am (for 10 October, 2015).

Not wanting to miss the show, I set my alarm to ring at 6:40am, which is kinda crazy early considering the fact that I was still wide awake at 3am.

But right on cue, I got woken up. Not by the alarm, but by the sounds of soft, persistent knocking on a door. Did I forget to open the attached bathroom door? Was it really someone knocking? I kept listening. It stopped. I looked at the time. 6:38am. 2 minutes before the alarm rings!

This has happened to me many times. And it has happened to others as well. Setting a time to wake up the next day, finding your body awake, like clockwork, all on its own. Usually a few minutes before or right on time.

For me, this reminds me of the power of intention.

What we plan ahead to do intentionally, becomes our reality.
Our minds act on a thought, tuning our body into alignment.

Let’s be more conscious of our intentions throughout the day.

Given a choice, what do you intend to see more of in your day?
Every moment is a chance to choose and clarify your intentions.

Make it a good one. Let it happen. And if things don’t turn out quite the way you intended to, pay attention. Was this your intention?

Learn something, then let it go…

Tomorrow, set another intention.
Take action. And watch it happen.

Love, SWOT And Grow

Do you Love yourself enough to do an honest self SWOT (Strength Weakness Opportunities Threat) analysis?

Facing the truth and reality about ourselves is not the easiest thing to do…

…but it’s a loving thing to do because it sets us free to Grow Up.

Growth is an upward movement that takes us higher in life, closer and closer to our dreams.

I want to grow.

How about you?

Are you serious about your growth and future?

Today, I know I’m growing when I felt ready to hear the W out of my own self SWOT analysis. I kept inviting my boss to tell me what he sees…

By lunch time, with my two colleagues on his left and right, he looked me seriously in the eye, jaws set in place… and he went for it. In just 4 points, he mapped out a clear direction for realignment.

It was humbling…

…but more than anything, I was deeply grateful for the wisdom gained.

From his constructive feedback, I can grow better from here onwards.

I guess what drove me to seek out his feedback was a short scene from a Korean drama I’m crazy about right now, ‘Advertising Genius Lee Tae Baek.’ The scripts are really true to life in advertising and his ‘master’ or Ad Guru reminds me of my current boss and ex-CD rolled into one. 🙂

There is this scene where Tae Baek is having a big wake up call from his over-inflated confidence. Something his ex-gf said to him came to mind…

…and spoke to me.

“When we used to be together, I liked that side of you and thought it was cool. But now it just looks like you don’t have a sense of reality and you’re unsteady. If you want to work in this field, then you can’t just do it with positivity and passion. You have to coldly present yourself to reality.”

Coldly present yourself to reality…

…most of us spend our whole lives running from doing just that.

We’re afraid of what we may really see when all the illusions drop… a point which was highlighted so clearly and simply in the same episode.

I’m ready for all the illusions to fade away. The cold hard truth is really my friend…

…with one side of my wings made of dreams and another side firmly in touch with reality…

I’m gaining the balance I need to fly.

Maybe that’s why the word Conscious was leaping out at me today.

It’s good to be awake…

Love,

Mish.
